Pregnant Dallas

Here is a picture of Dallas being pregnant. I took it a couple of weeks ago. She was barely showing. She is a little more poochy now. It's cute.

The genius of Livy

Olivia had her end-of-year testing for kindergarten on Monday, so we went with her. On the wall outside of her classroom they had a little assignment hanging up. Apparently they had some eggs in the classroom that they were trying to hatch. For their assignment they were supposed to write down what they thought was going to hatch out of the eggs. All of the other kids wrote down some sort of animal, mostly chickens. Olivia said ........ cookies. She guessed that cookies were going to hatch out of the eggs. And while that might seem like a silly answer at first, I think it is pretty smart. What would you want to hatch out of eggs? Some stupid animal? Why not cookies? It makes sense to me.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

Problems

So we're finally done painting the brown color. We took the tape off and this is what we got. What the? Did we do something wrong? What's the point of taping if it does this?

This is a picture of our TV. As you can see, it's broken, unless you only want to watch half of the picture. I called a couple of places about getting it fixed. One place wouldn't give any sort of estimate. They wanted us to bring it in and pay them $75 for an estimate. I called another place who wanted $50. He did give me a "ballpark figure" over the phone though -- "anywhere from $100 to $1500". So.......we might not have a TV for a while. I guess if it's towards the $100 area we could get it fixed. Why in the world would we pay $1500 to fix a TV though? I even looked on LG's (the brand) website, and they have a brand new 42 inch (our size) plasma (our type) TV for $1199. So, I could possibly spend more than that to fix a broken TV that's almost 3 years old, or just buy a new one. I'm going to think about that for a while.

All broken

We got hit in our rear the other day. My car is munched. I have to take it in to get fixed tomorrow. It doesn't look really bad, but there is a lot of damage. Most of the back will have to be fixed, and some of the front.

We were driving to the PO to drop a couple of letters off. Traffic was kind of backed up. We had to stop just past a traffic light. We had been completely stopped for about 15 seconds or so when a car behind us ran into us and pushed us into the car in front of us. The car had to have been going around 30 mph or so. Why would someone plow into us when we had been completely stopped for that long? Well, because the driver was 90 years old, that's why. I have no idea what he was doing or what he was looking at. But yeah, he just plowed right into us. I wasn't really hurt, but Dallas had some neck and stomach pain, so I took her to the hospital after to get checked out. We had been there a few minutes when the 90 year old dude came in with his 88 year old wife. I guess she was mildly hurt too. They sat right across from us and didn't say a word to us. Don't you think if you rammed into someones car and sent them to the hospital you would at least say something? Like, maybe sorry? Or are you ok? I guess not.

Well, Dallas is ok, so that's good. She was sore for a few days. I have a request for everyone, though. If you live to be 90 years old, please stop driving. Seriously. Just don't drive. I know you will want to be independent and everything, but is that really worth risking everyone's safety? If you can't even be competent enough not to drive into a car that's been stopped for 15 seconds, don't you think that's a good sign to stop driving? Now don't get me wrong, I love and respect the elderly. I really do. I just think more common sense should be used. Actually, I have always thought it should be harder to get and/or keep a drivers license. I have seen way too many drivers doing things that put people in danger. When I used to deliver mail, I had a route that went right by a high school. I was amazed by how recklessly teenagers would drive out of their parking lot. They didn't have any sense of how dangerous they were. Anyway, now I've gone of on a rant. Just drive carefully ok? And if you can't do that, just don't drive.
