Bye Mom

My Mom is leaving for Phoenix Arizona on May 1st. They are closing the department that she works in here and they gave them the choice to go go Arizona, so she is. She'll retire in three years, and she said she'll come back then. So, hopefully she won't be gone for too long. We went to her going away party at my Grandma's house yesterday, so here are some pictures.

Baby, softball and other cool stuff

Dallas says I need to write something, so I will.

I'm really super excited that we're having a baby. It is due on November 3rd. I have wanted a baby for a long time. We are going to try to get our basement finished as soon as we can. That way we can use the office upstairs for a bedroom for the baby. It will be a lot of work, but hopefully we can get it done. If anyone knows anything about basement finishing and wants to give me any tips, feel free.

We start our softball season on Monday. I'm excited for it. It will be our 4th year doing it. It is something I look forward to all year. I'm glad I have my wife Dallas, my sister Brenda, my brother Geoff, my sister-in-law Brianna, and many good friends on the team with me. That's what makes it so fun for me. Some of them have played on the team all four years. If I didn't do softball I really wouldn't have a life at all. So anyway, that's one thing I'm looking forward to.

We are almost halfway done with the painting on our main level. We have some more to do of the brown on the walls, then we are doing a light brown on the ceiling, doors, and moulding. Painting really sucks. Really bad. I think it will look a lot better when we are done, though.

We're Painting

We've started to paint the main level of the house. We're painting the walls a brown color, and the ceiling a really light brown, almost an off white. We think it's going to look so much better, once it's done. Jason can't stand the white down there. He doesn't want to leave anything white. It's so much work. It's taken us over a week just to do the prep work, and we still haven't done it all. It will be done today though. I can't wait for it to be done. I haven't cleaned down there sine we've started, because what would be the point. I hate dirty floors and dirty kitchens. That's enough complaining. Here's some pictures of what we've done so far.

This is our helper kitty.

This is our scaredy kitty. She doesn't want part in any of it.

Just for you Dad

We told some of you that we were waiting until I went to the doctor to tell everyone I am pregnant. My doctor's appointment happened to be on April, 1. You know, April fools day. When the appointment was made, I made a comment about everyone thinking it would be a joke. I called my Dad on my way to work after my appointment to tell him, and a few other people. My Dad was the only person to mention it being an April fools joke. I talked to my Dad yesterday and he said, it's been a few days now are you ready to say if it's a joke. I think he's convinced now that it's not. He did make a comment though that he was waiting for it to be posted on the blog, since this is suppose to document my life. So, here you go Dad this post is just for you. I love you.

The Redwoods

Well, I thought I'd write about our trip. It was a lot of fun. Northern California is so pretty. I've never seen that area before, and I was amazed at how different it was from the Southern part of the state. The majority of the driving was in the mountains. It was pretty, but on the way home I got tired of the three hours of twists and turns. We did a lot of driving, and the girls were so good. Ashley was really good at entertaining herself. Olivia wasn't as good, she would do something for a few minutes then lose interest, but if she wasn't doing anything she would just sit there and stare and not make a sound. It was kind of funny.

I thought I would write first about our trip and post some of the pictures I took before Jason could. I bet his pictures will look a lot more professional then mine.

Our first day there we spent time in the city Eureka which is South of the park. We went to the Sequoia Park Zoo. It was free, we found out though that it wasn't very big. It was still neat though, because it had Redwoods all over the landscape.

Here's the girls in the little petting zoo they had.

This was taken our first day of going into the Park. It was raining for most of the day and it was pretty chilly.

These are from the first trail we did. It was really neat looking up and seeing the fog all around us. I don't know if you can tell, but the trees are really tall.

Here's a cute goofball.

Jason and the girls driving through a tree. There's three or four of these that you can drive through. I guess they are all privately owned and charge you to drive through them. So, we decided we only needed to drive through one of them.

This is what most of the scenery looked like driving through the area. Just big huge trees on both sides. Jason just couldn't get enough of it. He would stop every now and then and just look up in awe and say "look at how big they are".

This was taken in Humboldt National Park. I believe it was about 50 miles South of Redwood National Park. This was the first trail we did that day, and we talked about it for the rest of the day. It was so green. It's hard to tell in the picture how bright it was, but trust me it was really green. Clovers covered the ground like grass. I've never seen anything like it. This little trail was probably my favorite part of the trip.

The girls by huge uprooted trees.

Jason and the girls by more big trees.

Cute Jason

I'm still getting used to my camera, so most of my pictures were blurry. This was probably the clearest picture I had. I think it's pretty cool looking.

Well, there's some pictures from our trip. Hope you liked them. We really enjoyed the scenery. We had a lot fun. I would recommend checking it out for yourselves, because my pictures don't give it justice.
