Here's what's coming up

We haven't had a whole lot going on. Just work and going to church. Jason tells me I need to write more on here, but I'm just not good at writing about what we do everyday. I only like to write when we go out and do something.

We're going to church with Jason's parents on Sunday. Jason is playing the violin with his Mom. I'm so excited to see them play. I've never seen Jason play. We have fun playing softball together, but I get more excited to watch him do stuff he's good at or he enjoys. He's good at everything he does though.

Also, we are going on vacation Monday. We are going to Redwood National Park to see those huge trees you can drive through. We are driving all day Monday and staying in Redding that night, then going to Arcata where our hotel is, which is about 30 miles south of the park. We are spending three nights there. In addition to the Park there are two other little areas where you can see Redwoods. We plan on spending three days and checking out all that area has to offer. It should be a lot of fun. We are all looking forward to it. We're coming home Saturday, and I'm sure we'll have pictures and stories to share. So, check back then.

The Symphony

So, The Utah Symphony is playing Tchiakovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 on February 20 & 21, 2009. Does anybody want to go with us?

We went to the symphony a couple of months ago. We heard Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Rachmaninoff. It was really good. At our wedding I had the piano player play the 18th variation when Dallas walked down the isle.

The Zoo

We went to the Zoo Monday. We were suppose to go with my friend Rebekah and her two daughters, but she canceled. We had fun, but the Zoo is a little depressing. They hardly have any animals. They're doing all this building, but they're getting rid of more and more animals as they do it. At least that is how it seems. Maybe they can't afford to have the same amount of animals and build, but I know we'd rather see more animals. The girls didn't seem too bothered by that though. Olivia really likes to be in control of the map and direct where we are going. It's cute. After, we went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. Jason and the girls really like it. It's just a Pizza place to me, but it was good. It was a fun day.

The culprit

So, here is the rest of the story of the bubble bath:

I talked to both of the girls about putting bubble bath in my fish water. They both denied doing it. Livy said that she saw Ashley do it, but Ashley still denied it. After school I talked to them both again, with the same results. I had them both go to their room to think about it. A little bit later, Livy came out all happy and said she was the one that did it. It seemed very suspicious, so I talked to her more about it. Then I had Ashley come talk to us again. Finally Ashley admitted to doing it, and to talking Livy into taking the blame for it. I don't know why she lied about it like that. I assume that she didn't know what would happen to the fish. I think she has seen me using the jug to put water in the tank, but she probably didn't put it all together. I was a lot more upset at her for lying about it and trying to get Livy in trouble for it than I was for the original problem.

R.I.P. Pepe & Otto

Pepe was about 1.5 years old. He was just a little guy, probably about 1 inch long. He was a brave fish. He liked riding on Dallas' Boyfriends back.

When I had to move all of the fish out on Monday, I couldn't find him. I had to empty out all of the water then too. When me and Livy cleaned the rocks on Thursday I found him. He must have been buried underneath the rocks when I emptied the tank. I hope that he didn't get buried while he was still alive. I assume he didn't, because he was pretty quick.

Otto was about 1 year old. He was Dallas' fish. She picked him out at the store. He looked pretty much like this, except his mouth was crooked. It was like 2/3 on one side. He would always act like a spaz when I came in to feed the fish. He would wiggle back and forth really fast at the top of the tank waiting for food.

He was in really bad shape when I got the fish out. I put them in Ashley's tank, and he pretty much just laid at the bottom. He was still breathing, so I couldn't bring myself to flush him.

The Survivors:

Wily Mo is the youngest of our fish. He is probably about 6 months old. He was pretty sick when I moved him. He seems better now, so hopefully he'll be ok. He is a weird fish in general, so it's kind of hard to know how he's doing. He is a Dragon Goby.

Dallas' Boyfriend is close to 3.5 years old. He is a monster, probably about 10 inches long. He is a Plectostomus (another type of algae eater). He usually scares me when I have to move him out of the tank. This time it was really easy, so he must have been sick. He got his name because he usually is just sitting around on the bottom of the tank. When Dallas started coming over he would always start swimming around a lot so she would see him. I think he likes her.

As you can see, our two ugly fish survived. Ugly, but cool.
